In this article we will build a ruined tower piece.
Cut out a ruined finish to one end of the toilet roll tube.
Cut out an arched doorway from the tube.
Using the corrugated cardboard cut out small blocks of about 1.5cm by 0.5cm. These should then be glued around the edge of the doorway.
Attached some pieces of modeling clay (or Blue-Tac) on the inside of the tube. Make sure these are all in line and above the doorway. The floor section (see below) will rest on these.
Using cereal box cardboard cut out a circle the same diametre as the tube. Cut some small nicks out of this on one side.
All pieces should be given an undercoat of black. The tower it self should have a block brickwork pattern painted onto it in various shades of grey. I started off using Shadow Grey and the dry brushed Codex Grey and finally Fortress Grey. The floor section should have a floor board effect painted onto it onto it in various shades of brown. I started with scorched brown and then dry brushed bestial brown and then snakebite leather.
Paint a thin line of PVA glue around the bottom of the tower and sprinkle some green flock onto it. Shake off the excess. Glue pieces of lichen onto the bottom of the tower in places. The ruined tower section is now finished.
The follow pictures are off all the walls, rubbles and towers placed together to make up a ruined structure. I use this in the 'Close Encounters' scenario.
