This is a very short guide on making the main board for 'modular' battle boards. I have used 2 sheets of 4' by 2' boarding, this is because these are easier to store than on 4' by 4' lump. This choice is entirely up to you. I have chosen chip board as the material, again this is just my choice, you could use MDF or ply.
Stick tape along the edges of the board, and one or two strips down the middle. If the tape has backing on it, remove it now.
Carefully roll the grass mat onto the board, smoothing out any bubbles.
Repeat the above steps on the other board. You know have a base battle board that can by 4' by 4'. If extra playing area is required, make another board. Using boards like this is easier to store than on solid big board.
If a different type of terrain is required, the other side of the boards can be covered with a suitable material to make snow, caverns etc... Two boards for the price of one.
